Pastor
Matt Marrs
Matt has served at Northland since 1996. In addition to serving as pastor at Northland, he is the Regional Director for the Send Network of the North American Mission Board for the Midwest. He and his wife Kerry have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and one daughter.
Pastor
Rustin Umstattd
Rustin has been a member at Northland since 2009 and has served as one of the pastors since 2015. He is married to Leslie and they have two daughters. In addition to serving on the pastoral team at Northland, he teaches for Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Tyler Rosas
Tyler has served as one of the pastors since 2019. He is married to Abby and they have two sons, Titus and Ezekiel, and a daughter, Hosanna. In addition to serving at Northland, Tyler works full-time and teaches at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Pastor of Students
Andy Sander
Andy has been the Student Pastor at Northland since 2015. He has a passion for student ministry. In addition to serving at Northland, Andy substitute teaches for various school districts in the Kansas City area.

Office Manager
Misty Jackson
Misty and her husband, Larry, became members in 2015. They are parents to one busy little boy. She joined the office staff in 2017 and when she isn't serving in there, you can find her coordinating special events at the church. She and her family feel blessed to call Northland home.
Director of Children's Ministry
Sharon Zuercher
Sharon became a member at Northland in 2011 and served in Haiti for four years before joining our staff in 2017. Sharon earned her degree in social work in 2021 and works full-time as a social work case manager. Sharon has a heart for serving children and families inside and outside of the church. When not working, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family.

Steven Masters
Steven and his wife Heather have been members at Northland Church for years. They are dedicated servants in helping new visitors become members at Northland through coordinating our More About Northland lunches by intentionally reaching out and inviting our guests to come take part in what God is doing at Northland.

Women's Discipleship
Rebecca Adams
Rebecca has loved serving at Northland since 2022. She cares deeply about families growing together to know Jesus and equipping women to know and study the Scriptures for themselves. Her favorite things include chasing her 7 kids, dating her husband, reading good books, running in the rain, and drinking coffee.
Director of Worship Ministry
Steven Cochran
Steven has been a member of Northland since 2007. He has been the media and technologies coordinator since 2018. He is Married to Sharilyne and they have three daughters. In addition to being on staff, Steven also works as a teacher for the Park Hill School District.

Micah Marrs
Micah has grown up at Northland Church. He joined the staff as the worship leader in 2016. He is married to Maressa and they have a daughter, Marci, and a dog. In addition to serving at Northland, Micah is also a realtor in Kansas City.
Director of Media
Brock Mitchell
Brock joined as a member of Northland in 2020. He has been a professional audio and video engineer in the Kansas City area for more than a decade, and a lifetime resident of the Northland. He currently works full time in the Fine Arts program at Liberty Public Schools, as well as freelance for various productions. He and his wife Anna love serving the Lord together at Northland in the Young Adult Ministry.
Director of Neighborhood Outreach
Karsten Harrison
Karsten came with his family to Northland in 2015 and has been a member since. He came up in the student ministry, was a youth intern for two summers, and was a pastoral intern for 2 years. Karsten came on staff as Ministry Coordinator, aiding the team in organizing events, meetings, and other ministries. In 2024, he became our Director of Neighborhood Outreach. He is married to his wife Elizabeth. He is also a student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Director of Facilities
Nathan Purkaple
Nathan has grown up at Northland Church and has served on our staff as a custodian since 2019. In 2022, Nathan was promoted to become the Director of Facilities here at Northland. When he's not working around the building, Nathan also enjoys volunteering in our children's ministry. In addition to his work for Northland Church, Nathan is a 3rd Grade Teacher for Northland Christian Schools at their KC North Campus.
Director of Communications
Zack Johnson
Zack and his wife Kari have been a part of Northland Church for years. They have two kids, Kayleigh and Wyatt who are involved in our Children's Ministries. Kari and Kayleigh enjoy serving in our First Impressions Ministry. So you will be sure to see their smiles as they welcome you on Sunday morning! Zack teaches in the North Kansas City School District and leads the new Class Act Coffee Shop with his students in the Gladstone area. Zack also enjoys leading our Men's Ministry with a great group of fellow leaders for monthly Forge events in addition to his work as our Director of Communications. As Director of Communications, Zack makes sure Northland has an active presence on social media in order to connect with and Love our Neighbors well, both near and far as he helps share the good news of Jesus well with others.

Custodian
Caleb Fain
Caleb became Northland's Custodian in 2023. He has a passion for serving others well. He brings this trait to life through his service as our Custodian. He actively works alongside our Director of Facilities, Nathan Purkaple, to maintain and upkeep our building and grounds for our weekly services and for special events. In addition to Caleb's work as our Custodian, he is also one of our Pastoral Interns who serves behind the scenes in many different ministry areas. He primarily serves in our student ministry alongside our Pastor of Students, Andy Sander. When he is not pouring into students at Northland, Caleb also spends his time discipling young adults in college through his ministry with Collegiate Impact. This energy he brings and shares through his investment in Northland's Young Adult Ministry monthly events.
